Police Chief Curt Zettlemoyer said police were dispatched to the 10 block of Broadway Street for a report of a shooting at 4:16 p.m. April 16. Officers were able to determine two individuals had been shot, Zettlemoyer said.

Following the shooting, Jose A. Rodriguez Lassalle, 27, of Broadway Street, was arrested and jailed on $75,000 bail after officers said they discovered a weapon inside a Broadway Street apartment as part of their investigation, according to police.

Lassalie was charged with felony possession of a firearm with an altered manufacturer’s number, police said.

Police located the weapon following a preliminary investigation, officials said.

According to a criminal complaint, officers served a search warrant at Lassalle’s apartment and discovered the weapon. The weapon, a 9mm Diamondback, was collected and logged into evidence, police said.

Zettlemoyer did not say if the weapon seized was used in the shooting, or if Lassalle was tied to the incident.

The investigation is still ongoing.
