WYOMING BOROUGH, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — A Luzerne County man was arrested Thursday and is now facing drug-related charges after police performed a narcotics search warrant in a Luzerne County home.

In October 2023, police interviewed multiple confidential informants and were able to get details on reported drug trafficking happening in Wyoming Borough.

Officials were given details identifying a suspect known to authorities as Jason Shawn Facciponti, who was alleged to have a safe containing illicit drugs at his home on East Seventh Street.

Around October 24, 2023, authorities were notified of trash placed on the curb from the home and gathered them as evidence.

From the gathered trash, officials say they found evidence of drug trafficking, which included clear baggies with cut corners, smoking devices with copper wool, knotted baggies, and a labeled mushroom bag.

This would not be the last time police went to the home to gather trash. Officials report being back at the home around November 9, 2023, and March 14, of this year.

Several more items were recovered including a silver spoon with burn marks and residue, smoking devices with copper wool, a doorbell camera, a piece of a glassine smoking pipe, and a corner-cut baggie containing a white substance which tested positive for methamphetamine.

On Thursday at 12:45 p.m., The Luzerne County Drug Task Force and Patrolman Ethan Powell carried out a narcotics search warrant at Facciponti’s home, where Wyoming Area Regional Police later took him into custody.

Authorities searched the home and found about 87 gross grams of possible methamphetamine, 39 grams of potential Fentanyl, a large amount of packaging materials, scales, new glassine baggies, and $1,481 found in the home’s locked gun safe.

All items were seized by police and taken as evidence where the possible methamphetamine was tested and received a positive result.

Facciponti was arraigned Thursday afternoon and is facing multiple charges, including manufacture, delivery or possession with intent to manufacture or deliver, use and possession of drug paraphernalia, and other related charges.

Facciponti is currently being held at the Luzerne County Prison and was denied bail with a preliminary hearing scheduled for April 4.
