DANVILLE — A Danville man facing felony charges in Montour County for the alleged assault of his 1-year-old daughter is headed to county court after waiving a preliminary hearing Tuesday.
Mathew Sacks, 35, was arraigned Tuesday on felony counts of aggravated assault and endangering the welfare of children. He also faces a misdemeanor charge for simple assault.
His initial $100,000 monetary bail was decreased to $10,000 Tuesday because the victim has been placed with family, according to court documents.
Mahoning Township Police received a Childline referral on Feb. 20 referencing a one-year-old female. The referral source was a registered nurse at Pediatric Specialty Care Medical Day at Danville. The specialty care facility is a day care dedicated to medically fragile children, according to police.
Sacks awaits further proceedings in Montour County court.
