PIKE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Court officials report a man has been sentenced for hiding a woman’s body after a deadly overdose.
According to Pike County District Attorney, 31-year-old Sean Engle of Tafton, was sentenced to probation for 18 months and fined $800.00 for the crimes of abuse of a corpse
Pennsylvania State Police responded to the 110 block of Deer Path in Palmyra Township for the report of a woman’s body found inside a container under blankets in the residence on September 12th, 2022.
Through further investigation on the scene, it is believed that the victim suffered a drug overdose and Engle placed her body into a tote and lowered into the basement without notifying authorities or family.
Engle was also sentenced for possession of drug paraphernalia.
