HAZLE TOWNSHIP, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — The focus was on family fun Sunday near Hazleton. Hundreds of families filled Hazle Township Community Park for the Sixth Annual Hazleton Area Children's Festival.
The non-profit, Hazleton Power, hosted the event.
It featured a wide variety of activities and attractions, including mini golf, a petting zoo, and even a meet-and-greet with first responders.
The festival proved to be a big hit with families from the Greater Hazleton Area, as well as a mom and her three children from Mountain Top.

"Children have a great time, have fun, we're all about that. Just being part of the community," said Mountain Top resident Sarah Rossi.
"That's what we really do it for is to showcase to people what's available in this community and all of the free activities for them this day," said Hazleton Area Children's Festival Volunteer Jeremy Thorne.
Thorne says sponsors' support made it possible to offer Sunday's festival for free near Hazleton.
