WRIGHT TWP., LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — A former band director and music teacher at Crestwood High School has been sentenced for inappropriate contact with a student.
A judge has sentenced Theron Roberts to two years in prison on the following charges:
Institutional sexual assault
Corruption of minors
Indecent assault on a person less than 16-year-olds
Indecent assault forcible compulsion
Harassment
Investigators say that Roberts had inappropriate contact with a female student and then threatened the girl if she told anybody about what he did.

According to the affidavit, the victim told detectives that Roberts would touch her in ways that made her feel uncomfortable in the fall of 2019 when she was between 14 and 15 years old.
Police say the contact happened on Crestwood High School property. Roberts was Crestwood’s band director and a music teacher from 2016 to 2019.
After his prison sentence, Roberts will be on probation.
