Fire officer found dead after volunteering at trunk-or-treat

DANVILLE, MONTOUR COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — The Montour County coroner is investigating a fire police officer's death after he was found dead while taking a break from volunteering at a trunk-or-treat.

According to the Montour County Coroner's Office, on October 22, 95-year-old Robert Myers from Danville was working as a fire police officer at a trunk-or-treat at the Danville School District.

Myers was found unresponsive in his vehicle around 7:21 p.m. after he did not return from taking a break.

Bystanders and EMS tried resuscitation, however, Myers was pronounced dead at the scene.

The corner has not yet released the cause of death.
