LACKAWANNA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU)— Fire crews in Lackawanna County have contained a brush near Montage Mountain that started Saturday night, but have since been pulled off for the night.
Assistant Fire Chief Jack Davis stated that the the fire has been contained to an area of the mountain, but is by no means out.
Officials say 55 acres have been lost due to the brush fire.
A post by the Montage Mountain Ski Resort states that the fire broke out overnight in the state forest north of the ski resort.
DCNR officials state that there are no structures in danger because of the fire.
Authorities say a medical helicopter reported the fire just before midnight on Saturday.

Scranton firefighters responded Sunday morning with crews from Moosic and two DCNR helicopters who had been dumping water on the fire.
Firefighters were assisted by Montage Mountain Snowmaking and Operations team according to the Montage Mountain Ski Resort.
Officials say the fire is in a very remote area, and that the Scranton Fire Department and members of DCNR will be back on the mountain on Monday to reevaluate the situation.
