EYEWITNESS NEWS (WBRE/WYOU) — A Scranton man has been convicted after investigators say he sold fentanyl resulting in the death of a 17-year-old.
According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Pennsylvania, 30-year-old Federico Rosario from Scranton was convicted after a four-day trial for distributing fentanyl to a 17-year-old resulting in their death.
U.S. Attorney Gerard M. Karam stated in August of 2021 Rosario sold a mixture containing fentanyl and cocaine to the victim who ingested the mixture and died shortly after.

Rosario was also found guilty of three additional sales of cocaine to the same victim that occurred in July of 2021.
The maximum penalty for a charge of drug distribution resulting in death is life in prison and the minimum sentence is 20 years.
