HAZLETON, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Police report the driver of a pickup truck is facing DUI charges after they say he was found passed out at a stop light and then led officers on a chase.
According to the Hazleton Police Department, on Thursday, November 14, around 2:30 a.m., offices encountered a Ford pickup truck stopped at a green traffic light on Diamond Avenue and Laurel Street.
Officers said they approached the truck and saw a man passed out on the driver's seat and an open alcoholic container in the cup holder.

Police stated they woke up the driver, later identified as Adam Skonieczny, who refused to exit the vehicle. Skonieczny quickly fled the scene and almost hit an officer. A high-speed chase began for a few blocks until officers said they could stop Skonieczny. He was removed from the vehicle and placed under arrest.
Skonieczny was transported to Leigh Valley Hospital Hazleton for further treatment. He is charged with DUI, aggravated assault, fleeing police, disorderly conduct, and reckless driving.
Bail was set $25,000 and Skonieczny remains in the Luzerne County Correctional Facility.
