LACKAWANNA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — 28/22 News Reporter Kathryn Oleary was out and about all day in Lackawanna County checking out the elements.
Oleary was out in Mayfield and found snow coming down.
There was no snow accumulating on the grass or the road at the time as it did just transition over from that rain into snow.
Higher elevations could see several inches of snow Thursday evening.
28/22 News spoke to one resident in Carbondale who was pretty surprised by the forecast.
How much snow will Pennsylvania see Friday?
"I think it's crazy, I don't know why we are in a higher elevation but I guess we are so. I'm getting a window replacement kit here so it can close the drafts out from my window," Carbondale resident Maryann Detrick said.
Later on, Oleary spoke with a Clifford Township resident in Jermyn who said they were overdue for the rain.
"I live in Clifford, I think it'll probably be about 10 inches to a foot, I hope they're wrong but we're due, we're due, had a pretty easy last few winters so," said Jeremy Jaggers from Clifford Township, Susquehanna County.
