Scranton's winter weather conditions

SCRANTON, LACKAWANNA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — The wet snow hit hard in parts of Lackawanna County, especially in Scranton.

Currently, Moosic Street, which leads up to Lake Scranton and Route 307 is still closed at this time due to trees down and live wires

Which is a problem many face in Scranton.

Roads closures, restrictions across PA due to snow impact

28/22 News saw multiple reports throughout the morning of trees down on cars, houses, porches, and roadways which caused multiple road closures for a bit, but most have since reopened.

Another problem this heavy wet snow caused is power outages and wires down. There was a transformer breakover on Prospect Ave and on top of that a water main break occurred in the same area.

According to the PPL Outage Map, anyone without power should expect it to be fixed by Sunday night at 11:00.

Of course Friday many just found themselves digging their cars out of the snow and shoveling.

Road conditions have improved since Friday morning.
