SUGARLOAF TOWNSHIP, COLUMBIA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced an upcoming lane closure coming to a Sugarloaf Township road.
Drivers are advised by PennDOT a bridge rehabilitation project on Elk Grove Road, Route 4049 will need a lane closure starting Sunday in Sugarloaf Township.
One lane will be closed at the bridge and traffic will be handled with a temporary traffic signal in both directions, PennDOT explained.

The Leadership Lackawanna Class of 2024's Anthracite Bicycle Coalition Project Team gave away recycled bikes Sunday at the Connell Park Cycle Kitchen in South Scranton.
Besides getting a free bike, people there got to learn how to service it if something goes wrong.

MIFFLINVILLE, COLUMBIA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — One was sent to a hospital after a Mifflinville motorcycle crash on Sunday, according to officials.
Authorities told 28/22 News the South Centre Township Police Department was called to West 3rd Street in Mifflinville at about 3:10 p.m. Sunday afternoon for a reported crash involving a vehicle and a motorcycle.

One person was injured in the crash and taken to Geisinger Danville for treatment, officials said.

EYEWITNESS NEWS (WBRE/WYOU) — Some familiar work is about to resume in the coming week along Interstate 81 spanning Lackawanna and Luzerne counties.
It was bumper-to-bumper traffic the past two weeks along I-81 for some shoulder cutting and pothole patching.
That work will pick up again Monday along a 15-mile stretch of the highway between Exit 180, the Moosic interchange, and Exit 165, the Mountain Top exit.

TUNKHANNOCK, WYOMING COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — A community that wants to make change is taking action to try and lessen the number of overdose deaths. It held an overdose-reversal drug distribution event on Sunday.
The Wyoming County District Attorney says the goal of this distribution is to educate people and to save lives.
More than 100 boxes of Narcan were handed out to people at Lazybrook Park in Tunkhannock.
