HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) -- Hours after Pennsylvanians were invited inside to recognize and celebrate Passover with Governor Josh Shapiro, part of his residence could be seen blackened, remnants of that celebration charred Sunday afternoon.
The Governor's Office gave a look inside, releasing photos of the wreckage from Sunday morning's arson attack.

At a press conference, Colonel Christopher Paris of the Pennsylvania State Police said a Dauphin County man is in custody in connection with the attack. Charges are pending.
“I refuse to let anyone who has evil intentions like that stop me from doing the work that I love, to stop me from being a leader of this Commonwealth,” Shapiro told the media. “I will not be deterred in that work and I will not be afraid in that work.”

“Right now, I want to be a good father, a good husband, and take care of my family,” Shapiro added. “I’m not fearful. I’m obviously emotional, I’m worried about my family.”
Shapiro and his family were in a portion of the residence unaffected by the fire at the time and were able to escape safely.
