SAYRE, Pa. (WETM) – A Sayre man has been sentenced to serve time in state prison after officials say he threatened to burn a house down with a woman inside.
Shawn G. Palmer, 33, was sentenced to a minimum of seven months to a maximum of four years in state prison for the crime of terroristic threats, as stated in a release from the Bradford County District Attorney's Office.

The release states that Palmer was charged with the crime in November of 2024 by an officer with the Athens Borough Police Department as a result of an investigation into a domestic incident.
During the incident, the DA states that the victim involved was attempting to leave the home when Palmer threatened to burn the house down with her inside. The DA further states that Palmer then proceeded to set a mattress on fire.
