PA parole officer shoots Erie man, PSP investigating

Pennsylvania State Police have now confirmed that a man was killed last night after a state parole agent fired a gun at him.      

This, after there was a major police presence on erie's east side Wednesday evening.

Police were putting up crime scene tape in the area surrounding East 27th and German streets and blocking it off to traffic.

According to a release from PSP, a Pennsylvania state parole agent shot a man, who died from the injury.

An autopsy was scheduled for 10 a.m. on Thursday.

Troop E's criminal investigation unit is in charge of looking into the situation.

Local leaders are already speaking out about the nature of the shooting.
