On Monday, April 25, a PennDOT bridge crew in Columbia County will begin a bridge replacement project on Route 4008 (Back Branch Road) in Mount Pleasant Township.
The existing concrete slab bridge, which spans a tributary of Fishing Creek, was built in 1940 and is classified as functionally obsolete. It will be replaced with a box culvert.
The bridge will be closed during the project. Route 4013 (Whites Church Road) also will be closed due to its close proximity to the bridge.
A detour will be in place using Route 4011 (Millertown Road), Route 4020 (Mount Pleasant Road), Route 4034 (Charmund Road), Route 487 and Route 1008 (Fowlersville Road).
The work is expected to be completed by mid-July.
