Special Weather Statement

STRONG TO POTENTIALLY SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS WILL IMPACT SULLIVAN, COLUMBIA, SCHUYLKILL AND DAUPHIN COUNTIES BETWEEN 745 AND 845 PM EDT

At 740 PM EDT, a fast moving and bowing line of severe thunderstorms extended from near Trout Run and Williamsport, south to Middleburg and Newport, moving east at 65 mph.

Wind gusts of 50 to 55 mph and pea size hail are probable. If the line of storms maintains it strength or intensifies slightly, damaging wind gusts of 60 to 65 mph would be likely.

The gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible.

If outdoors, or in campgrounds, plan to seek shelter inside a sturdy building until this line of storms passes.

Be certain to monitor local radio stations and available television stations for additional information and possible warnings from the National Weather Service.

A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 1000 PM EDT for these counties.
