Union County inmate pleads guilty to escape charge after police say he visited girlfriend while in work release program

LEWISBURG — A Union County inmate pleaded guilty to skipping out on his work release shift to spend time with his girlfriend and smoke marijuana — soon after he became eligible for the work release program.
