MIFFLINBURG — Three incumbents secured their party's nomination for Mifflinburg Borough Council.Mayor David Cooney with 198 votes and West Ward Councilwoman Beverly L. Hackenberg with 94 votes secured the Republican nomination while East Ward Councilwoman Linda L. Lewis secured the Democratic nomination with 62 votes, according to unofficial election results in Union County.They all ran unopposed.On the Republican side, the mayor position and the west ward position had two write-in votes. The east ward had nine write-in votes on the Republican side.There were no candidates for two open positions in the east ward.The Union County Election Board is reviewing write-ins. The Board of Elections is meeting at 10:30 a.m. Friday for the official count.— JUSTIN STRAWSER
