MIFFLINBURG — A Mifflinburg Area School District teacher accused of illegally recording a meeting with two administrators and a union representative waived her right to a preliminary hearing this week in front of Mifflinburg District Judge Jeffrey Mensch.All charges filed against Andrea Leigh Hockenbury, 41, of Newman Road, Winfield, are headed to Union County Court. She was charged in January with four felony counts of wiretapping and one misdemeanor count of possessing an instrument of crime.Hockenbury, an English language learner teacher, is accused of recording a meeting between Superintendent Ken Dady, middle school Principal Daryl Hunsberger and a union representative at the administration building in Mifflinburg at 9 a.m. Jan. 22. Dady said they were never asked nor informed that they would be recorded prior to the meeting, police said.Hockenbury was arraigned on Jan. 24 and bail was set at $5,000 unsecured. She is scheduled for a formal arraignment at 8:30 a.m. Feb. 2 in front of Union County Judge Michael Piecuch.— JUSTIN STRAWSER
