MIFFLINBURG — The Mifflinburg Area Community Scholarship Trust has awarded $24,000 in scholarships to 12 graduates of the Mifflinburg Area School District who are currently attending college.Paige Rhyne represented the Mifflinburg Class of 2022. She is continuing her education at Commonwealth University's Bloomsburg campus.From the Mifflinburg Class of 2023 are graduates Lydia Knepp, of Gannon University; Taylor Koch, of University of Delaware; and Mason W. Smith and Tanner Zimmerman, of Commonwealth University's Bloomsburg campus.Four scholarship recipients were members of the Mifflinburg Class of 2024. They are Lydia DeFacis, of Elizabethtown College; Lilee Dorman, of Shippensburg University of Pennsylvania; Zeb Hufnagle, of Millersville University of Pennsylvania; and Laine Martin, of Commonwealth University's Bloomsburg campus.A collegiate scholarship was awarded to Benjamin Reitz, who graduated from Mifflinburg in 2025 and is attending the Pennsylvania College of Technology.Two additional graduates will receive continuing $2,000 collegiate scholarships for four years based on having the best application during their graduating year. From the Class of 2024 is Mackenzie Vasbinder, who is attending Cornell University. The second student is Class of 2025 member Elizabeth Bierly. She is attending Endicott College.Collegiate scholarship applicants must have completed at least one year of college or a trade school and have a GPA greater than 3.0.The applicant must have at least one semester of college and/or graduate school remaining before they earn their degree. Mifflinburg graduates can apply for scholarships up to five years after graduation from the Mifflinburg Area School District but can only be awarded one collegiate scholarship.Between the collegiate and 2026 seniors, a total of $102,000 in scholarships were awarded this year.Anyone interested in more information can visit www.macstscholarships.org.— THE DAILY ITEM
