Arrest made after police chase, backyard break-in

BLOOMSBURG, COLUMBIA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — A man was charged after allegedly leading police on a car, foot chase into a fenced-in backyard.

According to the Bloomsburg Police Department, on Tuesday around 2:30 a.m. officers were patrolling in the 200 block of West Main Street when a man, George Stine, 48, was seen driving after knowingly having a suspended driver's license due to recent police interaction.

Police say after Stine went through a red light, officers tried to stop him, causing a high-speed chase to ensue. Stine then turned into a driveway and proceeded to flee on foot before he was arrested in a fenced-in backyard, investigators stated.

Stine was charged with fleeing officers, DUI, possession of drug paraphernalia, and various other traffic offenses.
