Lancaster Co. man captured in Pittston Twp. faces murder charges

EYEWITNESS NEWS (WBRE/WYOU) — A Lancaster County man captured in Pittston Township has been charged with the murder of his wife.

According to the Northern Lancaster Regional Police Department (NLCRPD) Matthew Harrison, 48, of Manheim, Lancaster County was taken into custody on Thursday, February 8, in Pittston Township Luzerne County after a brief stand-off at the Knights Inn on Route 315.

NLCRPD says Harrison (pictured below) is being charged with the murder of his wife, Jami Harrison, who was found dead in the 200 block of Mount Hope Road in Lancaster County.

Lancaster County homicide suspect captured in Pittston Twp.

The Lancaster County Coroner confirmed Jami's death was caused by asphyxia due to strangulation and suffocation.

Harrison was arraigned and remanded to the Lancaster County Prison after being denied bail.

According to court documents Harrison is charged with murder in the first degree, murder in the second degree, strangulation, and three counts of aggravated indecent assault.

A preliminary hearing for Harrison has yet to be scheduled.
