Residents in Exeter community without water

EXETER BOROUGH, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Residents in one Luzerne County community say they've been without running water all day.

According to the residents at the Birchwood Estates mobile home park in Exeter Borough, over 150 homes have no running water after a pipe broke.

28/22 News spoke with residents who tell us this is a re-occurring issue.

The water stopped running around 6:00 a.m. Monday and the people who live here say there's been no bottled water delivered to help them out.

They also claim they're having a difficult time contacting the property management company.

"Absentee management and the borough Exeter not much of a help either I can't get a hold of anybody there. Also, the 800 number goes to nobody it goes to somebody in a call occasionally and we have no property manager. Nobody responds to these things and we have a lot of disabled people here and a lot of people with kids and we have no end as to when they're gonna fix this water. It's a repetitive thing," said Birchwood Estates resident Randy Schoenberger.

A resident 28/22 News spoke with said they were notified the water will be turned on Tuesday morning for about an hour and then shut off until further notice as crews try to fix the issue.

We reached out to the property manager, but we have not heard back at this time.
