Arrest made after 400 images of child pornography discovered in Luzerne County

PITTSTON, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — An arrest has been made after authorities say they discovered a Luzerne County man downloaded 400 images of child pornography.

According to the Wyoming Area Regional Police Department, on Tuesday officers executed a search warrant in Pittston relating to a CyberTip received from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.

Three wanted for alleged retail theft at Sheetz

Police say the search warrant revealed that 50-year-old David Papiesz of Pittston downloaded images of child pornography for several years. During the interview, Papiesz stated he had downloaded over 400 images for "a long time," as stated in the affidavit.

Papiesz was charged with 100 felony counts of possessing child pornography and one count of criminal use of a communication facility. He remains in the Luzerne County Correctional Facility on a $200,000 bail.
