Five arrested for alleged retail theft at Walmart

HAZLE TWP., LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — State police report that six people were arrested after being accused of retail thefts at a Walmart in Luzerne County.

According to Pennsylvania State Police, troopers responded to Walmart in Hazle Township for separate retail theft incidents throughout the month of February.

On February 16 around 4:00 p.m., troopers said they were called to Walmart for a reported theft. Police say a 38-year-old woman from Hazleton under-rang items and hid more items in her purse. Police say the woman stole 18 items worth $70.37.

Later in the evening that same day around d 10:00 p.m. troopers were called for a theft where a 46-year-old woman from Hazleton underrang 15 items, PSP stated. The value items stolen was $51.93.

Two arrested for alleged armed robbery in Scranton

On February 19, troopers say they responded to three thefts throughout the day. The first theft was at 4:00 p.m. after a 34-year-old man from Drums allegedly stole $160.06 worth of merchandise from the store.

The second theft occurred around 6:00 p.m. when a 23-year-old woman from West Hazleton was accused of stealing $354.67 worth of items. Lastly, at 10:30 p.m., a 22-year-old woman from Hazleton was arrested for stealing $87.64 worth of household items, PSP said.

All suspects have been charged through the district court.
