HAZLETON, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — The Hazleton City Police Department arrested and charged a man they say forcibly raped two teenage girls.
According to the Hazleton City Police Department, on Wednesday, October 4, 2023, officers received a report of a juvenile who was raped.
Police say the investigation was taken over by Hazleton City's Detective Division, during which they learned a second juvenile had been raped.
Police say the investigation into the rapes led officers to 21-year-old, Edwin Isaac Burgos (pictured below), and on Tuesday, February 20, two felony arrest warrants were issued for Burgos.

Honesdale man accused of multiple burglaries
Officers say the following day Burgos was arrested without incident. He was arraigned and denied bail as he was deemed a danger to society.
Burgos faces multiple charges of forcible rape, rape threat of forcible compulsion, sexual assault, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse threat, and unlawful contact with a minor.
Burgos was remanded to the Luzerne County Prison where he awaits his preliminary hearing on Thursday, February 29 at 9:15 a.m.
