MOUNT CARMEL, NORTHUMBERLAND COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU)— A woman involved in a deadly crash was in Northumberland County court Wednesday.
On October 16, 2023, officials say a woman and two children were driving on State Route 487 near Industrial Park Road when a Nissan Rogue on the other side of the road swerved into their lane and caused a head-on crash.
As a result of the crash, a 13-year-old passenger died and the woman driving suffered serious injuries.

The driver of the Nissan Rogue was identified as 20-year-old Emilee Bland from Coal Township.
Investigators said they spoke with several witnesses who helped the victims and they confirmed that Bland had swerved across to the other side of the road.
According to arrest documents, Bland was driving with an expired license.
Court documents show investigators officially filed charges against Bland on February 27.
Bland faces several charges including: accidents involving death or injury while not licensed, careless driving, and other related traffic offenses.
Bland's next court day is scheduled for March 27.
