Lane restrictions scheduled on I-80 in Columbia County

HEMLOCK TOWNSHIP, COLUMBIA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced Monday, that there will be lane restrictions on Interstate 80 (I-80) in Columbia County.

According to PennDOT drivers should be advised of lane restrictions scheduled for this week on I-80 in both directions in Hemlock Township, Columbia County, due to a sign project.

PennDOT says on Wednesday, March 13, crews will be updating the blue tourism signs along I-80 westbound, East of Exit 232 (Buckhorn/Route 42).

Officials say drivers should expect shoulder closures where work will be performed between 9:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m., weather permitting.

On Thursday, March 14, PennDOT says crews will be updating the blue tourism signs along I-80 eastbound, West of Exit 232 (Buckhorn/Route 42), between 7:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m., weather permitting.

According to officials, drivers should expect the right driving lane to be restricted as work is being completed and should be alert, watch for slow or stopped vehicles, and drive with caution when encountering the work zones.
