“It’s never easy to close a store and we rarely do but we have an obligation to make business decisions that support the company’s continued health and growth,” Bringhurst added.

Local customers who shop at the Taylor Price Chopper aren't pleased with the announcement.

"I'm very upset about it, I buy all my stuff here," said Ted Lee, of Scranton.

A big concern for one Price Chopper customer is the pharmacy, which now has to switch locations.

"It's very convenient, and my pharmacy is here now I don't know what I'm going to do, I don't know where to go, I mean I can travel to Dunmore," expressed Barb Gergorio, of Scranton

All 85 teammates working in the store, 23 full-time, and 62 part-time, have been offered comparable positions at other stores in the Scranton/Wilkes Barre area, officials said.
