Snow, sleet, rain falling in northeast PA

EYEWITNESS NEWS (WBRE/WYOU) — A mix of rain and snow showers will continue Wednesday evening with the possibility of a snow squall.

As of 4:30 p.m., several counties are under snow squall alerts. Any snow accumulation will be an inch or less. Most of the rain and snow will taper off tonight. However, a few flurries and snow showers will fly around overnight.

It'll be windy and cold. Tonight's lows will be in the lower 20s, but normally colder spots will be in the teens.

Thursday will be windy and cold. After the chance of a morning flurry, you can expect mostly to partly sunny skies. Highs will range between 35 and 40.

Temperatures Friday morning will be near 20 again, normally colder spots will be in the teens. Sunshine on Friday morning will give way to clouds through the day as our next storm system approaches.

The aforementioned storm system will be here on Saturday with periods of rain. Highs will be in the middle and upper 40s. When we get on the back side of the storm, it will start to get colder. Some of the rain could end as wintry weather. The best chance for that to happen will be across northern Pennsylvania and the higher elevations.
