Bunny trail of treats in Luzerne County

WILKES-BARRE, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — A popular Easter-themed event happened just in time before the Easter bunny's big night in northeastern and central Pennsylvania.

The City of Wilkes-Barre held its 15th Annual Bunny Trail today along Public Square.

More than 600 children and their families stopped at several downtown businesses that had tables filled with treats.

the city also had an easter egg hunt and some giveaways as part of the celebration.

"So much fun for the kids, they come out, they have a blast, they get their eggs and then once they get their eggs, their candy, their prizes, and then it's a lot of fun for them to kinda go throughout downtown and it's great for all the downtown businesses to have all these kids come and buy things, see things, and become more familiar downtown," explained Mike Slusser special events coordinator for Wilkes-Barre City.

The bunny trail was held as a make-up after rain postponed the event last weekend.
