Area businesses cited for liquor law violations

EYEWITNESS NEWS (WBRE/WYOU) — Establishments in northeast and central PA have been charged after liquor control operations were performed in several counties.

The Pennsylvania State Police (PSP) Bureau of Liquor Control Enforcement (LCE) released details on Monday regarding the recently performed compliance checks.

Counties included in this enforcement report are Columbia, Montour, and Snyder.

Police say the following businesses were cited by LCE in March 2024:

Columbia County:

Societa Di Mutuo Soccorso Maria SS Dell' Assunta, also known as, Maria Assunta Society, of Berwick, was cited for failing to maintain complete and truthful records covering the business operations before January 29, regarding the Local Option Small Games of Chance Act.

Cited for failing to operate small games of chance in conformity with Tite 61 of the Pennsylvania Code, conducting a daily drawing that failed to display the rules of play.

Montour County:

Robert K. Vogst Post 298, Canteen Home Association, Danville, was cited for submitting an annual report that did not include all required information or included false and inaccurate information.

Snyder County:

Longhorn Steakhouse, Selinsgrove was cited for failing to have your board-approved manager complete RAMP owner/manager training within 180 days of the board's approval or appointment.

According to PSP, all charges will be brought before a judge and offenders can face penalties ranging from $50-$1,000 for minor offenses and up to $5,000 for more serious offenses.
