PennDOT officials visit all 67 counties in the commonwealth

ASHLEY, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — PennDOT's Secretary Mike Carroll became the first PennDOT secretary to visit team members in all 67 counties as he visited Lackawanna and Luzerne Counties Tuesday.

It's part of the Shapiro Administration's dedication to delivering in all corners of Pennsylvania.

Secretary Carroll highlighted that the 2024-2025 bipartisan budget signed by Governor Shapiro last month allocates more than $80,000,000 in new funding to repair roads and bridges and continue to fund the Pennsylvania State Police.

This plan delivers an additional $125,000,000 for road and bridge projects annually over the next four years.

"I think it's a positive thing that he's here showing that he cares about little luzerne county and like he said he visited 67 counties I guess he saved the best for last," said Luzerne County Highway Foreman Jonathan Gedrich.

In July alone, over 160 construction contracts for highway, bridge, and other improvement projects were completed statewide.
