SCRANTON, LACKAWANNA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Voter integrity is at the top of mind for election officials across the Commonwealth.
For the third year in a row, Lackawanna County has applied for and received a state-issued election integrity grant.
Lackawanna County Commissioners approved the grant application Wednesday.
This year, it was awarded more than $752,000.

The money helps ease the expenses of running an election, such as staffing, printing of ballots, security, and machine maintenance.
"It really provides a lot of relief to our budget to execute a safe fair and efficient election in Lackawanna County," said Director of Elections Elizabeth Hopkins.
Election Day is less than 70 days away.
The last day to register to vote in this year's Presidential Election is October 21.
