NANTICOKE, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Nanticoke Police say a young teenager was sent to the hospital with a gunshot wound Sunday afternoon.
28/22 News Gianna Galli spoke with authorities in the area of Minden Court in the Honey Pot Section of Nanticoke.
They say they were called to the scene at 3:30 p.m. Sunday after a reported shooting.
Police say a 17-year-old boy suffered a gunshot wound to the chest and was transported to a nearby hospital.
Nanticoke police say the boy was shot in the Miden Court home and was treated by ambulance on the step of the house.
The young man's condition is unknown at this time.
Authorities search for missing man in Lycoming County
Authorities tell 28/22 News this is an isolated incident and that there is no danger to the public.
So far, police say no arrests have been made and those involved in the incident have been detained and called in for questioning.
State Police were also on scene to investigate the incident.
28/22 News spoke with several neighbors who didn't want to go on camera, but say there has always been some kind of commotion going on at the home of the incident.
