PITTSTON, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Hundreds of runners were on their way through seven communities in Luzerne County.
The 2nd Annual Wyoming Valley Run kicked off Sunday morning in Pittston.
Runners, walkers, and hand cyclists had a wet start thanks to Saturday's rain, but that did not stop them from tackling the 10-mile course.
The race took participants all the way to Wilkes-Barre where it ended on Public Square.
"It's really exciting to be race day, like, just because we've been planning since December so that fact that it's here and everyone seems happy," said The Wyoming Valley Run Race Director Ben Robinson.

"These types of gatherings, they bring a lot of good energy. It's great for people to have that camaraderie and do a race like this and bond together. We all share a common bond and getting out and racing and getting through it and feeling really good when we get it done," said Scranton resident Jeffrey Ginsberg.
