SCRANTON, LACKAWANNA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU)— An annual festival for train enthusiasts was held Saturday for the first time since 2019 in Downtown Scranton.
Railfest returned to steamtown national historic site celebrating railroading`s past, present, and future.
The event is free to attend.
Train rides are available to the public with the purchase of a ticket.
Railfest gives both amateurs and enthusiasts a chance to learn about locomotives and celebrate the railroading industry and heritage in NEPA.
"They can come here to enjoy railroading heritage, get some train rides. They can head over to the trolley museum and experience a different mode of transportation with the trolley so there's a lot for people to do," said Megan Stevens, Park Ranger.
Railfest will continue through Sunday in the Electric City.
