DICKSON CITY, LACKAWANNA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — After more than 20 years of serving the community, a major primary care provider decided to relocate. Now, a community health center is stepping up to continue serving patients at that same location.
The Wright Center for Community Health has just opened its newest primary care facility in Lackawanna County to make sure patients from the former facility still have access to care.
Providing responsive and inclusive care to patients who need it.
On Tuesday morning, the Wright Center for Community Health began seeing patients at its newest Dickson City location.
"22 patients came and successfully received their primary health services here at the clinic," said The Wright Center President and CEO Dr. Linda Thomas-Hemak.
The site occupies the former medical offices of Drs. Cynthia M. Oleski and Giovanni Ramos.

Weeks ago, after deciding to relocate outside of the area, they contacted the Wright Center, who swiftly stepped in to continue to service the dozens of patients who get their primary care there.
"They would not have access to health care if the Wright Center did not step in and add one of their locations up at this place where patients are used to coming and they've been coming here for over two decades," said The Wright Center Senior Vice President and Chief Medical Information Officer Dr. Jignesh Sheth.
The center will serve longtime patients like Michael and Carol Jaskulski from Dickson City, who say they're happy they can continue to get the care they need, at the location they want.
"This would have been terrible if nobody came here," Carol explained.
"It's convenient. We live in Dickson City and who knows how long we can be driving and getting around to farther doctors or primary care physicians in farther places so this is good and I'm sure everything will work out," Michael added.
The primary care clinic will offer checkups, physicals, and other services.
In the near future, they hope to expand and offer their widely used dental and behavioral health services at this location as well.
