WILKES-BARRE, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — A shooting in broad daylight in Wilkes-Barre leaves a community in shock.
Police are investigating a shooting that happened on East Northhampton Street outside of a movie theatre in a popular part of Wilkes-Barre.
Witnesses describe what they saw and heard as police say a man was shot by another man in downtown Wilkes-Barre.
"So we were right around the corner over there and we heard some arguing and people like you know, sounds like they were gonna fight each other and then the next thing you know there's like pop sounds. There was a vehicle flying by like tires were screeching and everything," said Wilkes-Barre resident Frank Jenkins.
"I was right here by the light and I heard like, three shot gun," said Marie Ackah from Wilkes-Barre.
According to police, they arrived on the scene just before 4:00 p.m. for reports of a shooting.
There, they found the victim on the sidewalk near Movies 14.

28/22 News was on the scene as first responders gave the victim CPR.
He was then transported to a nearby hospital.
Flowers and a candle stand near where the crime took place.
Residents say they are shocked and saddened to hear about the shooting.
"It's news to me it's terrible. Scared to live in this town anymore," Jenkins added.
The condition of the victim is unknown at this time.
It's also unclear if any arrests have been made.
