When is the best time for fall foliage in Pennsylvania?

EYEWITNESS NEWS (WBRE/WYOU) — Pennsylvania will soon burst with colors like oranges, yellows, and red as the fall season approaches. But when is the best time for you to experience the fall foliage?

This year, the Pocono Mountains Visitors Bureau (PMVB) has released a new fall foliage forecast map.

The PMBV says the new forecast map will help everyone know where, when, and how to experience the stunning fall views.

Delivering hot meals, hope in Monroe County

The fall foliage forecast map is broken up into three regions within a four-county area and shares projected peak foliage dates as forecasted by state foresters.

The northern color zone encompasses northern Wayne and Pike Counties and starts in early October.

The central color zone has southern Wayne, Pike, and northern Monroe Counties and starts to see a color change in mid-October.

The southern color zone is comprised of the southern Monroe County and Carbon County, including Jim Thorpe fall foliage, and should be visited around late October.

The map is updated every Thursday through the end of October.
