SCRANTON, LACKAWANNA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Lackawanna County has announced three new positive tests of the West Nile virus from Mosquito samples found in Scranton.
There have been 394 samples taken in Lackawanna County with 26 positives according to Lackawanna County Communications Director Patrick McKenna.
No human cases of the virus have been found in the county according to Program Coordinator, Rocco Genovese.

The three mosquitos were found in Scranton, West Scranton, and South Scranton two dating from August 27 and one on September 4 according to a release from the county.
Genovese encourages residents to wear long sleeves and pants when outside for long periods of time and to clear standing water to lower the chances of breeding.
