Protestors come out for Vice President Harris' visit to Wilkes-Barre

WILKES-BARRE, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Vice President Kamala Harris's visit is being met with plenty of opposition in the Diamond City.

Dozens of protestors gathered near where the vice president is set to speak Friday evening to send Vice President Kamala Harris a message and show their support for former president Donald Trump.

People began arriving around 3:00 p.m. holding signs, posters, and flags at the corner of South River and West Market streets. The Trump supporters have been catching the attention of traffic with people honking at them.

The energy is high as the crowd gathers together to support Trump.

Earlier Friday we caught up with a man who was protesting just outside of where Harris supporters were gathered.

He came to Wilkes-Barre after attending the debate in Philadelphia.

"Well, I wanted to register my protest against Kamala Harris and Biden, to me they're the same. I wanted to give my support, as a registered Democrat who I think is the only one who can get us out of this mess," stated Bob Kunst.
