Car show benefits siblings with dystonia

DURYEA, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — A teenager who is also one of 28/22's Here's To You Kids is giving back to his community and others in a special way.

That is Owen Moraski who hosted a car show today at Duryea VFW 12-27.

The 13-year-old Dupont boy lives with a neuological disorder called dystonia which causes involuntary muscle contractions.

He set out to help raise money for two siblings who also have the condition.

With the help of "The Unnoticed Car Show" and his mother, the fundraiser took in thousands of dollars.

Festivities begin at Oktoberfest in Luzerne County

"We have hosted plenty of shows for charity and we do it so that we could get back. I personally have a daughter who has cancer and somebody held a show for us to raise money and we wanted to do the same thing for others," says Luciano Ramos, head owner of Unnoticed Car Shows.

"It's always good to give back and we know what it feels like so well you know these kids will get great care," said Megan Marchetti Owen's mother.

All total, the car show raised 2,500 and counting.

The money will help cover some medical care and physical therapy for the two siblings in need.
