PLAINS TWP., LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Police say they are currently investigating an "intentional" crash involving a driver hitting and killing a motorcycle rider in Plains Township.
According to the search warrant filed by Plains Township Police, on September 13 around 11:30 p.m., officers were called to the 500 block of North Main Street for a crash involving a truck and motorcycle.
Police said they soon learned the crash was intentional and the truck had fled the scene.
Once on the scene, officers say they saw a man lying in the roadway being treated for injuries. The victim was taken to Geisinger Wyoming Valley where he was pronounced dead due to injuries he sustained "when he was intentionally struck by the vehicle," investigators reported.
The victim has been identified as 47-year-old Mark Svadeba, according to the Luzerne County District Attorney Sam Sanguedolce.
Witnesses to the crash told authorities they saw a man intentionally run over the victim with the truck that he was driving, as stated in the search warrant.

Surveillance footage corroborated the witnesses' statements where a white pickup truck can be seen hitting and driving over the victim, police stated.
"It was a nightmare. He got killed, he was run over. He was smart, and kind. He did a lot, poor guy would go over there and play with his bike he was trying to teach them something the night it happened," said Carney, a nearby neighbor.
Around 1:00 a.m. Wilkes-Barre City Police found a pickup truck that matched the description of the suspect's vehicle in the area of West Academy and Pickering Street. Police noted damage was observed on the front end.
The search warrant was issued to seize the 2007 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck.
Investigators tell 28/22 News Louis Weibrecht has been named as a suspect in the Plains Township hit-and-run.
Luzerne County Correctional Facility
Weibrecht surrendered to police on Saturday in connection with a previous case involving protection from abuse. He's expected to be charged with homicide.
