NANTICOKE, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — After a body was discovered in a Luzerne County neighborhood, 28/22 News now knows the victim's identity.
28/22 News first reported word of the investigation Tuesday morning.
The Luzerne County District Attorney's Office has identified the body found in Nanticoke as 36-year-old Kelci Pamela Jones from Nanticoke.
Her body was found in the yard of the home at 213 East Ridge Street, but she did not live in this neighborhood.
People who live there are shocked by it all.
"Well, I had a neighbor call me and let me know. I saw fire trucks out back and said 'What! Let me see what's going on.' As I walked to the door, they say they found a body. A body that's horrible. That's horrible," said Paulette, a neighbor.
State, local, and county detectives converged on the 200 block of East Ridge Street Tuesday morning.

The body of the 36-year-old woman was found in the front yard of a home at 213 East Ridge Street.
They spent some four hours gathering potential evidence. They also seized an SUV. It was hauled away on a flatbed truck.
"Obviously we're treating this as a suspicious death as we always do until we have evidence otherwise there are a number of witnesses who have been cooperative so far we're hoping to have more information later today," said Luzerne County District Attorney Sam Sanguedolce.
An autopsy was done today. The district attorney says the county coroner will be releasing a statement on Wednesday.
At this point, 28/22 News does not yet know the cause and manner of death.
