WILKES-BARRE, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — The Market Street Bridge and River Street in the area of the bridge were closed for hours, causing major traffic delays as police investigated a deadly crash late Tuesday afternoon.
The Wilkes-Barre City Police Department confirmed with 28/22 News the crash has turned deadly and the victim's identity has not been released at this time.
Emergency crews were called to the intersection of Market Street and River Street shortly before 5:15 p.m.

Police taped off part of the intersection where a mangled bicycle laid in the middle of River Street and a car was seen with a smashed windshield.
