SCRANTON, LACKAWANNA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — It's a hot-button issue in this year's election: reproductive rights. On Tuesday, party leaders and activists from both sides are weighing in as we are just weeks away from the Presidential Election.
Reproductive rights continue to come up in conversations surrounding this year's election.
On Tuesday, Democratic party leaders gathered in Lackawanna County rallying for reproductive rights with their national reproductive freedom bus tour.

What to know ahead of 2024 Election Day
"These are dangerous times and if you look just last week at the debate, Donald Trump refused to say, whether he would veto a national abortion ban," said Democratic National Convention Treasurer Virginia McGregor.
President Trump has long been consistent in supporting the rights of states to make decisions on abortion and has been very clear that he will NOT sign a federal ban when he is back in the White House.

Speakers also shared personal stories.
Hadley Duvall is a sexual abuse survivor who was raped and became pregnant at the age of 12. She began sharing her story online after Roe v Wade was overturned in 2022.
"I'm from Kentucky where, because of Donald Trump, an extreme abortion plan is now in place with no exceptions for rape or incest," said Duvall.
The rally was met with some opposition. One protestor notes the role reproductive rights are playing in this year's election.
"The abortion issue is very forefront and I see it in ads that Harris is running on the abortion issue and Trump is. it's a big issue coming into this election," said pro-life advocate Maryann Lawhon.
President Trump also supports universal access to contraception and IVF. Contrarily, Kamala Harris and the democrats are radically out of touch with the majority of Americans in their support for abortion up until birth and forcing taxpayers to fund it.
