EYEWITNESS NEWS (WBRE/WYOU) — The Pennsylvania State Police have announced that applications are now open for the 2025 Troop N Hill Impact Program.
Officials say the 14-week program is tailored to help those aged 15-18 seeking a career as a law enforcement officer.
The release states applicants will undergo an interview process to be accepted into the program as well as participate in physical training each session.
"The program is free to those accepted and will provide those enrolled with an opportunity to experience the process of becoming a cadet in a law enforcement academy. The program is also designed to strengthen the relationship between law enforcement and students within this program while providing a firsthand look into the process of becoming a law enforcement officer," PSP wrote in a media release.

Any applicant who has graduated from the Pennsylvania State Police Camp Cadet program can also apply and applicants can participate in the program until they have reached the age of 19, officials note.
"The program has aspects of a “Paramilitary” organization and individuals will be introduced to physical training such as running and marching. Individuals will receive instruction on traffic, criminal investigations, and other police resources. Individual cadets will also learn time management, self-discipline, and teamwork," PSP added.
Troopers say the program is free to those accepted and applications are being accepted through November 29, 2024.
The program will be held Monday evenings from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. starting January 13, and will run through April 14, 2025 at the Kingston Armory in Kingston, Pa. There will also be a Saturday session once a month that will run from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
